PROJECT DESCRIPTION
The youth centres are located in the most populated quarters of the city, they are the places of art and creativity, where young people aged 14 to 30 can find rehearsal rooms, concerts and events, free time activities and courses. For instance, in Youth Center “Tecchio” there is a climbing wall, a studying and meeting room and places to share passions and competences through peer to peer activities. In these two Youth Centers, also a lot of educational and didactic activities for children aged 6-13 are daily proposed and run, like Summer Camps and Educational after-school programs, mainly with a homework support program and recreational activities. Beside this, volunteer, in cooperation with the other European volunteer hosted in Vicenza will be involved in additional activities like linguistic conversation groups called “tandem”.
ACCOMMODATION, FOOD AND TRANSPORT ARRANGEMENTS
The volunteer will live in 1 apartment with another volunteer (same gender) in Vicenza towncenter. The apartment has 1 double bedroom and 2 single bedrooms, with shared cooking and living room and bathroom. Volunteers will share the apartment with localstudents/workers. The house is equipped with all utilities. All administrative costs will be paid by the Hosting Organization. The volunteers will manage by their own food and meals by receiving a food allowance (around € 150,00 per month). The pocket money is around €150,00 per month .Travel costs will be reimbursed up to € 275,00.
TRAINING DURING THE PROJECT
Volunteers will be given any training necessary to carry out their tasks. The volunteer will have the opportunity to gain social competences, but also in the field of public relations, communication and event organisation. Most time it will be training on the job, this is the easiest way to learn all things quickly. They will not only be engaged in on-arrival and mid-term trainings, but also group trainings with all the volunteers hosted by Studio Progetto. There will be also the opportunity to attend special meetings/trainings with volunteers hosted by other local association/NGO.
