As you are aware, the novel Coronavirus outbreak also known as COVID-19 has been causing negative effects worldwide for some time now. Through this period, many countries have been forced to take extraordinary measures ranging from travel bans to closing borders, economic precautions to lockdowns.
As of the month of March, since the first officially confirmed cases have appeared in Turkey, all precautionary measures have been taken to prevent the spread of the outbreak. Due to this, we have been receiving numerous inquiries from you about whether student selection will take place for Türkiye Scholarships in 2020.
With our hope that the COVID-19 outbreak could be brought under control in the coming months, we would like to inform you that Türkiye Scholarships evaluation process of candidates is currently continuing within the application calendar previously announced in our website. However, we do expect that the outbreak’s negative impact could cause some delay and disruption in Türkiye Scholarships’ application and selection calendar.
With this, prior to the interviews planned to be organized at the end of the evaluation process, the evaluations of the World Health Organization, whose work on the course of the epidemic is carefully monitored, will be taken into consideration. Additionally, a coordinated plan will be carried out with our Ministry of Health and Ministry of Foreign Affairs regarding the countries from which students can be accepted.
