Duties and responsibilities
- teaching, research and development activities in the following subject areas: potable water treatment, wastewater treatment, waste management, circular economy;
- teaching and development activities related to the subject area:
- teaching, organization of studies and development of curricula,
- supervision of master's and doctoral students,
- compilation of textbooks, teaching aids and methodological materials and development of Estonian vocabulary.
- research and development related to the subject area:
- successful application and management of international research projects;
- application and management of national research and implementation projects;
- development of co-operation with the institutes within the University, and with other Estonian and foreign universities;
- initiating and organizing scientific conferences and seminars;
- organizational-administrative work related to the subject area:
- development of co-operation with employers, professional associations, state and administrative agencies, private companies and the general public in Estonia;
- participation in the work of non-university academic and administrative bodies and commissions;
- organization of advisory activities;
- maintaining a work environment that motivates and inspires the work of the chair;
- performing the tasks specified in the professor's job description in his / her field.

Higher education in Civil Engineering, PhD or equivalent.
Required experience / qualification
- teaching activities:
- teaching experience at the university, including international teaching experience;
- effective supervision of master's and doctoral students;
- experience in organizing courses of continuing education and lifelong learning;
- experience of participating in the European Union's Erasmus+ support program for education;
- experience in curriculum development, including inter-university;
- experience in compiling university textbooks; experience in developing vocabulary.
- research and development:
- scientific and administrative competence, cooperative, excellent communication skills;
- experience in reviewing research papers and thesises;
- international experience of academic work or self-training in abroad;
- experience of cooperation with researchers from other universities and research institutions in Estonia and abroad;
- experience in gaining international visibility through joint publications, joint projects or joint research;
- implementation of research results through public and private sector work.

Specific Requirements
Fluent
English. During the first years of occupation, the successful candidate is expected to acquire the Estonian language proficiency at least on communication level.
In case the applicant has obtained higher education in a foreign country, the University is entitled to demand the applicant to present an assessment given by the academic recognition information centre (Estonian ENIC/NARIC Centre) on the conformity of the qualification of the applicant to the qualifications required in the position.

- information on academic work (incl teaching) done within five recent years;
- other relevant materials at the discretion of the applicant.
